About us

Tim and Nancy Staal have lived and taught in West Michigan since the late 1970's.  In August 2012 we began teaching at the American School of Bombay (ASB)  in Mumbai, India.  Nancy was a third grade teacher and Tim the Secondary Librarian.

In July of 2014 we returned to the US, and made ourselves available for long-term international substitute teaching. Our first subbing assignment took us to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where foreigners are known as Mzungus (wanderers).

In August of 2016 we moved to Japan to teach at Tokyo International School (TIS), Nancy as a fourth grade Teacher and Tim as Teacher Librarian.
